Performance & fault finding
Monitoring, site inspections, thermal imaging and electrical testing to locate the problem before prescribing work.
HIT ENERGY SERVICES / UTILITY SOLAR
With over 15 years’ experience on utility solar sites, HIT brings monitoring, practical engineering and documented delivery to everything from cable theft recovery to 33 kV transformer repowering.
ENGINEERING AT SITE SCALEMore than a maintenance visit
When a site trips, suffers damage or starts losing output, we find the cause and deliver the work.
HIT has maintained and monitored utility solar sites for over 15 years, since the early UK rollout. Our team moves from string-level data and field inspection to a defined scope, repairs, testing and clear completion records.
What we do
Support for owners, asset managers and delivery partners responsible for keeping large PV sites safe and productive.
Monitoring, site inspections, thermal imaging and electrical testing to locate the problem before prescribing work.
Make affected circuits safe, replace damaged cabling and connectors, test the repaired strings and return generation in stages.
String rewiring, buried cable faults, combiner boxes, fuse carriers and protection defects across extensive arrays.
Defined work packages, coordinated equipment changes, 33 kV transformer projects and electrical supply replacement.
Evidence-led upgrades to ageing or underperforming equipment, retaining useful infrastructure where it remains suitable.
Photographs, test results, remedial records and commissioning evidence showing what changed and what returned to service.
Insurance related works
After a break-in, fire, weather event or equipment failure, the immediate priority is to understand the affected circuits and make the site safe. The next is a practical route back to production.
Technical reports can support an owner’s insurance claim. Coverage and settlement decisions remain with the insurer.

Project evidence / 33 kV
On a long monitored utility site, HIT’s inspections identified developing problems in 33 kV transformers and protection equipment. The work became a major replacement project. Client and site details remain private.
TRANSFORMER EQUIPMENT PROJECTA real HIT project
Monitoring and maintenance checks, including oil checks and thermal imaging, identified faults and potential safety and generation risks.
How HIT works
Alarms, historical performance, site records and inspection findings.
Define the affected equipment, isolation, access, programme and parts.
Carry out the electrical work, verify the circuits and coordinate specialists where needed.
Recommission, document results and continue watching performance.
