Repower of High Voltage and Protection Devices:

HIT Energy technician performing a solar PV maintenance check

Working with an international Solar PV utility company for many years that became a long standing customer and a part of our client family, we carry out constant monitoring and maintenance of their flagship UK site.

Our solar PV maintenance checks identified issues with 33Kv transformers, frequent oil checks, and thermal imaging of HV parts confirmed transformers failings along with protection devices.

Our reports identified multiple issues on site that could pose potential safety concerns, along with loss generation. With this in mind, it was imperative to detect the issues, resolve and reinstate the site as soon as possible

The Solar Farm Maintenance on sites began in 2015, with both preventative and reactive tasks, ensuring the stability and efficiency of the plants.

With this in mind, minimising loss of production, procurement of replacement 33Kv transformers, decommissioning of old, replacement of 33Kv supplies, replacement LV supplies with bespoke manufactured components to suit new transformer housings.

It’s a great example of essential maintenance of solar PV plants and credit to our team for spotting issues that may have caused further issues on sites. The smooth operations and experience of our team saw a full turn key solution of replacement units and re instating generation to the national grid. Well done guys for another successful operation.
